Kunsthalle Bremen comes to Bonn Masterpieces from six centuries 10 October 1997 - 11 January 1998 With over 170 paintings and sculptures and more than 200 engravings from the Kupferstichkabinett, the Kunsthalle Bremen is bringing the major works from its collection to Bonn. Examples of 17th century Dutch art, with paintings by Van Goyen, Ter Borch and the Rembrandt School as well as oil sketches from the rich collection of the Romantics will be on display. From the Kupferstichkabinett, which comprises over 200,000 items, ranging from mediaeval engravings to modern photography, the exhibition contains works by Albrecht Dürer, including important water colours such as Blue Iris. The main attractions of the collection include paintings by the French and German Impressionists, which are also a central feature of this exhibition. The members of the Artists' Colony in Worpswede, in particular Paula Modersohn-Becker, are represented in the exhibition by their paintings as well as graphic reproduction and book-making. Further highlights of the exhibition are works from all of Max Beckmann's creative periods as well as paintings by the French artist Eugène Delacroix. Contemporary art is represented among others by the works of Nam June Paik and John Cage. Visit the exhibition right now: "The exhibition in one minute!"
