Dj Eddie Piller is the owner of Blue Note Cafe, London, owner and head of the label acid jazz.london. He compiled the first two of the "blue break beat compilations" for Blue Note Records and discovered bands like Brand New Heavies, Jamiroquai, Corduroy or Galliano. Eddie Piller, Gilles Petterson and Paul Murphy are the leading three Djs who brought back the Blue Note Sound to the clubs in the middle of the 90s. Henry Storch is the owner of unique club, Düsseldorf, and compiled "The New Testament of Funk". Moreover, he is a member of the remix Project Metrophonics.

Ensemble Modern plays Ennio Morricone
Throughout Germany, Ennio Morricone is renown for his compositorial contributions to movies like "Once Upon a Time in the Wild West". During the 1999 International Film Music Biennial he will be awarded with the Erich-Wolfgang-Korngold-Prize, an honorary award which was given to Sir André Previn in 1997, the first time this award had been presented. On this occasion we will be presented with a thrilling programme by Ensemble Modern, Germanys best known ensemble of recent music. Ensemble Modern will play compositions for chamber music by Morricone.

Explore India Millenium Concert
Ravi Shankar, Sitar
assisted by Anoushka Shankar at the sitar; Bikram Ghosh and Arup Chattopadhay at der tabla and tanpura; further accompaniment The legendary Indian composer comes to Bonn for his only concert in Germany. Ravi Shankar is, according to George Harrison, the Godfather of world music, and has inspired generations of spaghetti western composers and musicians since the 60ies. His concert at Monterey was praised with enthusiasm and is still present in the minds of many who attended the event. Even the recent techno trance scene is influenced by his music. Ravi Shankar is one of the the 1999 awardees of the Honorary Award of International Film Music Biennial. After the concert there will be a screening of "Chappaqua" (director: Conrad Rooks), to which Ravi Shankar contributed the music, and which won the Venice Silver Lion in 1966.
