The goal of the European Film Institute Karlsruhe (EIKK) Support Prize as awarded in the framework of the International Prize for Film and Media Music is to support the professional advancement of up-and-coming artists in the areas of film composition and filmsound design such as have already demonstrated their abilities by means of an outstanding piece of work. To this end, the prize-winner is offered the opportunity to take part in a feature film production on the basis of an EIKK scholarship and with the latter's assistance in finding the position.

3. Short films of a maximum length of 20 minutes shall be submitted.

3. The jury is free in deciding who to award the prize in line with the essential goals and mission of the EIKK and in the framework of the European Film Institute Karlsruhe (EIKK) Support Prize.

4. The jury shall try and reach a unanimous decision; the prize shall be awarded only if the production is supported by at least two-thirds of the votes cast.

5. There is no legal appeal against the jury's decision, which is final.

III. Awards ceremony

The prize-winner chosen by the jury will be informed of their successful application in early June 2002 and must be at hand to receive the prize in person on June 28 in Bonn.
