Katharina Franck - Zeitlupenkino

"Always on the move, always going on and on". A voice is making its way. Katharina Franck, in the 1980s on tour with the Rainbirds, can now be seen and heard with a new project.

Zeitlupenkino (slow motion cinema) was created in close cooperation with Thomas Stern and Yoyo Röhm. Stern, bass-player and sound engineer of both the Rainbirds and Einstürzende Neubauten, has been working with Katharina Franck for a long time. Together with Röhm he belongs to the band Melotronik. They compose, arrange, and extrapolate the words for Zeitlupenkino, which are partly spoken and partly sung, thus turning the sound into a new level of the narration. This adds a spatial and temporal quality to the project, which is essential to real or imaginary cinema.
